Fair, readable terms for using Smartic—what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Smartic’s website, Chrome extension, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By installing, accessing, or using Smartic, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you use Smartic on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Permitted use

Smartic helps you identify useful YouTube videos for your search by presenting helpful insights such as ratings, match indicators, watch recommendations, key takeaways, and confidence signals.

You may use the Service for personal or internal business learning purposes, in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

Prohibited activities

You agree not to:

  • Abuse, overload, disrupt, or attempt to interfere with the Service
  • Bypass plan limits, security controls, or access restrictions
  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, harassing, or deceptive purposes
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • Scrape, bulk-export, or redistribute Service outputs in a way that harms Smartic or violates these Terms
  • Attempt to reverse engineer the Service except where such restriction is prohibited by law

Account responsibilities

You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your Google account secure. Notify us promptly if you believe your Smartic access has been compromised.

Service availability

We work to keep Smartic reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change as we improve the product. Temporary outages, maintenance, or dependency issues (including third-party platforms) may occur.

Accuracy of recommendations

Important Smartic’s ratings and recommendations are informational aids. They are not guarantees of video quality, safety, accuracy, or fitness for your purpose. Always use your own judgment before watching or relying on any video.

Smartic evaluates publicly available information associated with videos to help you quickly identify options that are more likely to match your search intent. Results can vary and may not reflect every user’s needs.

Plans & future subscription services

Certain features may be subject to plan limits (for example, monthly allowances). We may introduce or change free and paid plans over time. If paid subscriptions are offered, pricing, billing, renewals, and cancellation details will be presented at purchase.

We may suspend access to paid features for unpaid invoices, abuse, or Terms violations.

Intellectual property

Smartic—including its name, branding, software, and website content—is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service as allowed by these Terms.

You retain rights to content you submit. You grant us permission to process that content solely to operate and improve the Service (for example, to show recommendations associated with your account).

Termination

You may stop using Smartic at any time by signing out and uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Service or other users.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SMARTIC AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, may provide additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Smartic operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country provide otherwise.
